Local girl Nat, who originally hails from over the hill in Buxton, has been drawing for as long as she can remember, and as a good friend of Hollie and Matt's, seemed the perfect fit to become Hollie's new apprentice. The fact she makes a cracking brew had nothing to do with it. NB Tattoos by our apprentice may not be perfect as these are to help them learn the skill of tattooing. They are at a reduced rate because of this. By making a booking with our apprentice you accept this, and that you will be receiving an apprentice tattoo that may not be perfect.

Welcome to Old Smithy Tattoo, owned by Artist Hollie May and her husband Matt. We are based on the South West corner of the Peak District in the heart of the beautiful market town, Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands. We pride ourselves on professionalism and a great customer experience in a sterile, warm and friendly environment. We opened in Leek in 2011 as Hollie May Tattoos on St Edwards Street, in 2012 we moved to Fountain Street and established ourselves as Old Smithy Tattoo, then in 2018 we moved to The Smithfield Centre and in 2023 we started a new Chapter at The Attic at 8 Sheep Market as a private studio. Our studio and artists, including guest artists are fully health registered with the local authority and practice to the highest standards.
